Duty to God

Duty to God

In its Charter and Bylaws, the BSA maintains that no member can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God or their religious faith. No matter what the religious faith of a member might be, this fundamental need of good citizenship must be kept before the member.

Ten Commandment Hike
The 12th point of the Scout Law is "A Scout is Reverent" and what better way for a Scout to learn the differences of the various religions than to join us on a "Ten Commandments Hike". This is a District Event, where Scouts can visit several houses of worship on a Saturday, to observe the unique differences between various religions. This will be educational and the Scouts may be able to use this activity to fulfill advancement or religious medal requirements. We are looking for someone to Chair this position, and we have all the materials and guidance available for running this event. If you are interested contact Don Filer at donfiler@sbcglobal.net for more information.
